Basant Panchami – A festival which is epitome of education and learning, was celebrated in Mount Olympus School. This festival is devoted to worship Goddess Saraswati, who is a lord of intellect, knowledge music and art. This festival marks the preparation for the arrival of spring. Many families mark this day by sitting with their young children, encouraging them to write their first words with their fingers, and some study or create music together.
This day was celebrated in our school with great fervor and enthusiasm. Yellow color – representative of spiritual knowledge, is given importance on this day. The school made arrangements to celebrate this festival for the students who are coming to school and also for the ones who are attending classes online. Aarti was performed by our revered Principal ma’am along with Vice Principal and Head Mistress of the school. Saraswati Vandana and songs of the Aarti were followed by a divine rendition of shlokas, celebrating the harvest season of the school. The spring of happiness was uplifted when the learners of senior grade worshipped Goddess Saraswati by offering flowers and performing Aarti.
Students attending the session online celebrated this festival with their teachers and class mates with equal zeal. They were decked up in yellow colour traditional attire and extended their prayers to the lord. The Principal motivated the learners to be progressive in their academics.
